  • End the endless raking. One pass lifts duckweed, string algae, leaves and scum off your pond or lake.
  • Clears 400 sq ft in about 15 minutes with the 54-inch floating net, from shore or boat.
  • Raised floats collect more per pass. The leading edge rides above the waterline so debris flows in, not under.
  • Snaps together in minutes, folds flat for off-season storage. No tools, no chemicals.
  • The patented original, now evolved. Born from U.S. Patent No. 7,603,836 and years of real-world improvements.

About this item

Everything the copies leave out.

  • Marine-grade 6061 aluminum frame
3/4-inch square tubing, rigid and rust-resistant, built to outlast the pond.
  • 1000-denier vinyl-coated netting
15×10 weave collection screen with reinforced, finished edges.
  • Sealed closed-cell buoys
Float even if punctured; they never soak up water like foam copies.
  • 24-foot, 550-lb paracord tow rope
Toss it past the debris and pull it back, from shore or boat.
  • Handles a 50-pound load per pass
Lighter, more frequent passes keep the surface clear with less effort.
  • Born from a patented original
The DeSkuzzer story began with U.S. Patent No. 7,603,836; the 3.0 is its evolution.

Product description

Built for floating debris. Built to last.

Bring your waterfront back to life with the Original DeSkuzzer 3.0, the floating pond skimmer and lake weed remover that pioneered this proven design. Handmade in the USA, it quickly removes duckweed, string and filamentous algae, floating weeds, leaves, pollen and other surface debris, with no herbicides or algaecides.

Unlike traditional pond nets, the DeSkuzzer uses a 54-inch-wide floating net with raised buoys that keep the leading edge above the water. Floating debris flows into the heavy-duty collection screen instead of getting pushed under, so cleanup is faster and more thorough. In many conditions it clears up to 400 square feet in about 15 minutes.

Deploy it from shore or a boat using the included 24-foot pull rope. Toss it past the debris, pull it back across the surface, empty the screen on shore, and repeat. It unfolds and snaps together in minutes and folds flat for easy off-season storage.

Duckweed mixed with watermeal in hand, collectable by the DeSkuzzer

Mixed with duckweed: collects along for the ride.

Watermeal alone in hand, too fine for the DeSkuzzer netting

Watermeal alone: too fine for the netting.

Know your weed before you order: the DeSkuzzer is made for floating surface debris. Watermeal on its own is too fine for the netting, though mixed with duckweed it collects along for the ride. Perfect for homeowners, lake associations, marinas, golf courses, campgrounds and HOAs seeking chemical-free water care.

Owner reviews

4.4 stars from the people on the water.

Cleared more duckweed in fifteen minutes than a whole Saturday with the rake.
Karen T., verified owner
Built like a tank. The aluminum and the net feel like they’ll outlast the pond.
Dwight R., verified owner
No more algaecide. I walk the shoreline every couple weeks and the water stays clear.

Good questions

Pond skimmer questions, answered.

Either works. Most owners walk it along the shoreline with the 24-foot rope. On bigger water, tow it behind a rowboat or push it ahead of a power boat.
Know your weed before you order: the DeSkuzzer is built for floating debris like duckweed, string algae, leaves and surface scum. Watermeal on its own is too fine for the netting, though mixed with duckweed it collects along for the ride.
It arrives folded in half with the net, buoys and rope attached. Push the frame together until the snaps click and it is ready for the water. It folds flat again for winter storage.
Unused units are covered under our return policy. Once a unit has been in the water it can’t be returned, because moving equipment between waterbodies risks cross-contaminating lakes and ponds.

Skip the rake. Skip the chemicals.

Your pond is one pass from clear.
